The case stemmed from a 2021 incident involving his former friend and A$AP collective member, Terell Ephron (A$AP Relli). The 36-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, embraced his wife Rihanna in the courtroom as the verdict was announced. The singer, who brought their two children to hear the verdict, later expressed her gratitude on social media, writing "Glory belongs to God, and God alone. Grateful and humble for His mercy."The case centered around a confrontation in a Hollywood parking lot, where Ephron claimed Rocky threatened him with a gun and shot at him, grazing his hand. However, Rocky's defense team successfully argued that the accusations were financially motivated, stemming from jealousy over the rapper's success. They also maintained that the alleged weapon, which was never produced as evidence, wasn't real."We're grateful to the jury," said Rocky's attorney Joe Tacopina after leaving court. "From day one, we said he was innocent... I always said this was an extortion attempt." The jury took approximately four hours to reach their verdict, ending a legal battle that began with Rocky's arrest at Los Angeles International Airport in April 2022. Rihanna showed unwavering support throughout the trial, attending multiple court sessions and recently sharing Valentine's Day videos of the couple, demonstrating their strong bond despite the legal challenges.
